The Ceramic Implant Process
Ceramic implants consist of three parts: the implant post, which replaces the missing tooth root, and the abutment, which connects the final crown, bridge, or denture to the implant in your jawbone. The key difference is the material and how well your body accepts it.
Initial Evaluation
Dr. Shank begins with a thorough assessment, including 3-D imaging (CBCT) to evaluate your bone quality and plan proper implant placement. He will discuss your health history, reasons for choosing ceramic, and whether you're a good candidate for this option.
Our Integrative Approach
Throughout the process, we use techniques meant to support your body's healing:
- Ozone therapy during placement to reduce bacteria and promote healing
- Biocompatibility testing to ensure replacement materials work well with your system
- Gentle surgical techniques that preserve healthy tissue
Implant Healing and Final Restoration
Over the next 3–6 months, the implant fuses with your jawbone, creating a stable base for the restoration. Once this process is complete, Dr. Shank will use CEREC same-day technology to custom-craft your final replacement the same day. He will ensure the restoration matches the surrounding teeth and functions comfortably for decades, with proper care.
